Engine Polished Punishment Cheats

If you want to greatly improve the quality of your experience on this site, you should seriously consider blocking low rated player who use deep engine analysis to create traps against your repertoire using weak and refutable lines. Booking up against these line is unlikely to improve your over the board play an can waste serious amounts of your time.
If the lines are so weak and refutable why can't you solve the problems without prior preparation? =) You can always get an inferior position out of the opening but outplay yout opponent.

And who is to say that by learning to refute these openings you won't gain some chess insight and improve as a player?
Lets also consider blocking player playing the exchange french because I don't like playing them.
and block all French and Caro-Kann players ;D
I'm a Caro-Kann player and protest in the strongest terms. On the other hand, I entirely advocate blocking all French Defence players. :P

(OP, why is someone who has prepared a "cheat"?)
#1 OTB I play against players who trained the same way. Yes, it's frustrating for their sake that they don't improve at the game in general, but for you & I to improve at the game we need to defeat them.
#4 #5 I guess I get voted out here :)
I try with my club games to improve twofold: 1) to learn and improve at key middlegame and endgame concepts and to try to learn and recognize key motifs within games. 2) to come up with tricky sub-variations that people with sound OTB sense, but only a few moves of opening knowledge in certain families of opening will come a cropper on. It's legit! You've got to give us patzers something.
@OP: Why do you assume the use of 'deep engine analysis' to create these traps specifically against your repertoire, rather than the OTB discovery of these traps? Do you opponents tell you about their preparation? Why do you consider engine preparation cheating? And what's more, you should already know about every -cheap- trap hidden in your repertoire. Devoting some time to remove these weaknesses in your game (having a Swiss cheese repertoire is a weakness) is time well spent. A fox is not caught twice in the same snare.
thats funny coming from a guy with the username "TheUltimateBook". gotta keep working on these rough edges man
