Atomic chess / white wins after getting a check

Hello All,

Played a game for black in Atomic. Made a check and I was expecting that white shall move the king out of the check field but it did not happen and instead there was a move with a rook that nuked my king.

Is it not mandatory to move your king when your get a check in Atomic or at least protect it first ?
