What was the last book you read?

Recently I read 1984 of George Orwell again. Striking how much has become true about about society. We are are more and watched and controlled by "big brother". Just frightening!

shrinking the technosphere was the last one.

By Dmitry Orlov, a wonderful and informed tale about how to drop rationally our technological needs.
1984 is great. Also like you said how much he predicted is scary. I only just read war of the worlds by H.G Wells last month. Unbelievable it was written in 1897. I also read the invisible man after. Both books 5 stars. Highly recommend reading them if you haven't.

In regards to the book 1984, some in the know claim that they are not predictions, but that Orwell had insider knowledge of how things would go down in the future. There is a long-term plan in place that has been put forth long ago, and it doesn't stop with a single generation. The plan is generational and continues to this day.

Most people will dismiss this concept because they simply cannot wrap their mind around the complexities involved of propagating such a plan.
The last book I read was Pat the Bunny. But only by request of the youngest member of the family :) The Silmarilion is the last one I read for me.

100% accurate.
That's unthinkable. :)
Just outta curiosity, how would you propose controlling the world for generations without anyone knowing?
