Structured thinking during move evaluation

Ok, so I am about to choose my next move. When I am doing calculations, I tend to go over the same lines again and again. Its rather chaotic. I am elo 2000 but feel my game would be much better if my calculation was more efficient. No wonder I always get into time trouble!

Anyone here repeating the same calculation again and again, rather like re-reading the same line in a book over and over again?

Thanks,

Jon
I heard about this problem in some chess player. Probably you need to sharpen your istinct, in some position you have to believe in yourself not only in calculation. So, an idea could be studiyng games played by “irrational” chess player with special attenction for unsound sacrifices. Tal games, of course, and among today players Shirov and Morozevich.
Secondly, you could play more quickly playing supersharp sacrifices (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nxe5 d6 4.Bxc4 and so on) in blitz, trying to use your “sniff”.
